Once while on a family road trip, we stopped at a state Welcome Center. I was mesmerized by the display shelf with all the colorful brochures. Wide-eyed, I grabbed one after another, dreaming of the adventures my family could have. Then, an employee "kindly" told me there was a limit of two per child, and I sullenly handed over my booty. That didn't stop me from building my collection, and my favorite is a World Trade Center brochure from 1981 with the headline, "The closest some of us will ever get to heaven." To this day, I strive to recreate that brilliance.
