My Work.

Novels and Columns
In the summer of 1983, I read S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders. I spent the rest of the summer dreaming of becoming a writer and typing out her novel on my father's electric typewriter, which for some reason typed in script. I may have given up on copying Hinton's manuscript, but I never gave up the dream of writing my own novel.

With two self-published books under my belt, I'm currently working on a third novel. I also have a weekly column with BioNews Services that chronicles living with chronic disease.

Every office has one: the whore, the slacker, the saint, the sinner. The seven deadly sins and their corresponding virtues are evident everywhere, and the workplace is not immune.

One spring night in Austin, Texas, the battle of good and evil continues at a company going away party for Steven Taylor, the new media director at The Idea Shack. For him, the night marks the end of his employment at the trendy advertising agency. For everyone else, the party becomes a confessional of biblical proportion.

Personnel Policies is a story of friends, enemies, and lovers. A tale of sabotage and secrets, all the loose talk around the water cooler is either confirmed or proved untrue by the end of the evening. By the time Steven says his final farewells, all his questions about life at The Idea Shack will be resolved, and he doesn't have to die to ask God for the answers.

Amelia, Roxie, and Allison are at the age when a woman is too young to be bitter and too old to be making the same mistakes. Each woman finds herself at a crossroad in her life. She must decide whether to follow her head or her heart and choose whom to take with her and whom to leave behind. The three friends each undergo a significant, life-altering experience, and after a year of joy and sorrow, Amelia, Roxie, and Allison discover which direction will lead to happiness.

From the author of Personnel Policies comes Threesome, a story of the special bond that women share and the relationships with the people outside their circle of sisterhood. Through laughter and tears, the women find love, lose hope, and rekindle the passion in their lives. Amelia, Roxie, and Allison provide each other with support, help each other grow, and lead one another down the path to self discovery and self fulfillment.
